By joining Interact, you open doors to real leadership growth: you’ll help run your club, lead service projects, and get mentorship from Rotarians. You’ll also become eligible for exciting programs like RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards) — camps or seminars where you build confidence, teamwork, ethical decision-making, and public speaking skills. You might even take part in Rotary Youth Exchange, living abroad for a period, learning another language, and gaining a global perspective. Plus, there are Interact-widely events, social gatherings, parties, competitions and international service days (e.g. World Interact Week) that make service fun and help you make lasting friends. Being able to talk about all this on your university application—your leadership roles, international experience, community impact—will stand out strongly to admissions boards and show you’re someone who takes initiative, cares about others, and can balance responsibilities.
